Data center construction safety marshal

Galaxy Automation Systems is seeking a technically strong Data Center Construction Safety Marshal to lead energy control governance and critical power safety across mission-critical data center projects. This role is designed for professionals with a Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related STEM field) who can bridge engineering design and safe field execution. As the technical authority, you will manage ECP, LOTO engineering, MV & HV switching oversight, MOP/AP review, and final energization approval.

Role Overview

You will serve as the technical authority for:

• Energy Control Plan (ECP) governance

• LOTO engineering design and enforcement

• Medium & High Voltage switching oversight

• MOP/AP review and approval

• Pre-energization inspections and final energization approval

• Redundant critical power system validation (2N, N+1)

 

You will ensure safe commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems while maintaining compliance with NFPA 70E and OSHA standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all energization and de-energization safety processes

• Review and approve Methods of Procedure (MOPs)

• Interpret single-line drawings and system redundancies

• Supervise Deputy Marshals and LOTO Coordinators

• Conduct audits and enforce Energy Control Plan compliance

• Lead root cause investigations for energy-related incidents

• Coordinate with owners, contractors, and commissioning teams

 

The ideal candidate:

• Holds a Master’s in Electrical, Mechanical, or related STEM field

• Has strong understanding of power distribution, switchgear, UPS, generators, and critical redundancy

• Can confidently interpret and update one-line drawings

• Has experience in data center or mission-critical construction

• Is NFPA 70E qualified (OSHA 10/30 preferred)

• Demonstrates servant leadership with strong enforcement capability

• Thrives in fast-paced, high-risk construction environments

 

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel or relocate to project sites

• Flexibility for night/weekend energizations

• Excellent technical communication and problem-solving skills

• Level I – Entry/Undergraduate

• Level II – Advanced/Master’s preferred
